Architectural Solutions for
Helping you maintain
Data Centres are a crucial part of organisational infrastructure, with Data Centre uptime being one of the most critical metrics providers are compared against.
When designing a Data Centre it’s important that you choose the right partner for your project to ensure optimal results and minimise the risks of future downtime.
At CS we understand the sensitivity of data centres and their importance to an organisation. We’ve developed a range of specialist building products that maximise building lifecycle and ensure smooth day to day operation.
A key specialty of ours is optimising airflow for HVAC systems, whilst ensuring water penetration is kept to a minimum, as one single drop of water can leave a long trail of impact on the Data Centre infrastructure.
Noris Network
In order to provide optimum airflow and maximum protection from wind-driven rain for their innovative Kyoto Cooling System, Noris Network chose CS Rain Defence Louvres for their Nurenburg and Munich data centres.
Supplied with bird guards, the prefabricated RSV-5700 Rain Defence louvres installed in both facilities also met the client’s high security requirements, providing RC2 burglar resistance class.

At Construction Specialties, our goal is to help you build efficient and easy to maintain Data Centres. That’s why our product range is adaptable, robust and designed to suit the needs of the building and the people using it.
From customisable wall and door protection products to high performance louvre systems our solutions help deliver reliability and peace of mind for your data centre.
Airflow & Performance
Controlling the temperature and humidity of the air within critical infrastructure such as data centres is an important consideration. In order to provide optimum airflow and maximum protection from wind-driven rain, specialist, high performance louvres are required as part of a building’s ventilation solution.
The performance of our louvre systems has been evaluated by independent third party testing. In addition, any of our standard or bespoke solutions can be verified in our own testing chamber to ensure they achieve your specified performance levels in real world conditions.

Explosion Venting
If your data centre has onsite power generation, or stores potentially explosive materials such as coolant, it may be worth considering an Explosion Venting solution to protect the building, and ensure minimal downtime if an explosive event occurs.

Damaged Walls & Doors
Server replacements are recommended every 3 years, and with that comes the potential for damage from large, heavy equipment being moved around. To reduce maintenance costs and potential downtime it’s important to consider protecting your building from damage.
Acrovyn offers many solutions to protect the interior of your building from impact damage, all designed with durability in mind.
From impact resistant sheet used for protecting wall and door surfaces to heavy duty corner protectors and crash rails, our range comes in a wide range of different shapes, sizes, materials and colours to suit your needs.

Building Movement
Due to the large footprint of Data Centres, Expansion Joint Covers are often required to cover movement joints designed to accommodate structural building movement. It’s also important to consider protecting these joints with fire barriers as fire can spread quickly through unprotected joints.
Raised access floors are common in data centre applications, so quite often simple, all metal cover strips are used to cover the gap. However, in areas where heavy equipment such as servers are being moved about heavy duty all metal covers are recommended to ensure long term durability.
Where required, various fire barrier options, tested for movement cycling are available to suit your needs and protect your building from the spread of fire.

Dirt Containment
Dirt containment within a Data Centre is critical to ensuring outside dust, dirt and debris doesn’t impact server reliability. One way to combat that is to ensure effective entrance matting is installed at every entrance to the facility, capturing dirt and debris at the door.
Pedisystems entrance matting systems are designed to remove maximum dirt and moisture at the entrance.
Durable, aluminium based systems are available in a range of styles, depths and insert types, with some options designed for heavy loads going across the mat. We also offer interlocking tile systems and entrance grade carpets to suit smaller budgets.
